Advocating for Clinical Social Workers: A Look at 2017:

NASW has issued a new practice alert which informs clinical social work providers of the impending Medicare number changes for beneficiaries beginning April 1, 2018.
This change will impact reimbursement for clinical social workers who will need to provide new Medicare numbers on their claim forms in order to avoid payment denials.

FYI we are providing the following links to three new practice updates on coding for clinical social workers.

We are pleased to announce that, in 2015, the West Virginia DHHR Bureau for Medical Services will begin the process of enrolling Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers as reimbursable WV Medicaid providers. We anticipate that interested LICSWs will have had the opportunity to become credentialed providers of individual and group therapy services to authorized WV Medicaid recipients by or about July 1, 2015. Stay tuned for more details! An information session is being planned for the upcoming Spring CE Conference for Social Workers.
